7. Awakening another who is asleep due to memory failure.

திருப்பாவை பாசுரம் 7
கீசு கீசென்று எங்கும் ஆனைச் சாத்தன் கலந்து
     பேசின பேச்சரவம் கேட்டிலையோ பேய்ப் பெண்ணே
காசும் பிறப்பும் கலகலப்பக் கைபேர்த்து
     வாச நறுங்குழல் ஆய்ச்சியர் மத்தினால்
ஓசைப் படுத்த தயிர் அரவம் கேட்டிலையோ
     நாயகப் பெண் பிள்ளாய்! நாராயணன் மூர்த்தி
கேசவனைப் பாடவும் நீ கேட்டே கிடத்தியோ
     தேசமுடையாய்! திற ஏல் ஓர் எம்பாவாய்.

கீசுகீசு - கீச்சு கீச்சு, கிருஷ்ணா கிருஷ்ணா; ஆனைச்சாத்தன் - வலியன்; பரத்வாஜ பறவை;
காசும் - அச்சுத் தாலி; பிறப்பும் - முளைத்தாலி; கைபேர்த்து - கை அசைத்து; தேசம் - தேஜஸ்;

Pasuram 7 - English Translation

Can't thou listen to the kingcrow mingled all around?
     The clatter--'Keesu Keesu', a medley
Gurgling noise of curd by churndash
     Hands moving see-saw, to alter,
Of Ayar women with tresses fragrant and
     Coins clanking in their necklace seedy;
Thou devilish lass, our chief, conceive;
     As we sing Narayana moorthy Kesava
     Shouldst thou lie-along well orient'd?
     Lay open thou radiant
     Listen and consider our damsel.

Pasuram 7 - Tradución de español

Oye Muchacha hechizada, ¿no escuchas el gorjeo y la conversacióny
                                  de los pájaros?
     Sin saber el amanecer, estas durmiendo profundamente
¿No oyes los estruendos de los collares de las vaqueras con pelos aromáticos
     Por el movimiento de las manos cuando están batiendo la cuajada?
¡Ah Líder de las muchachas!, ¿Por qué incluso después
                                  de oír los himnos y cantos
De Kesava que ha obtenido este nombre matando el demonio Kesi,
                                  estás dispuesta a dormir?
     ¡Oh muchacha esplendorosa!, por favor ven y abre la puerta.

8. "A girl beloved to Krishna and could conquer Him" -- is aroused.

கீழ்வானம் வெள்ளென்று எருமை சிறு வீடு
     மேய்வான் பரந்தன காண் மிக்குள்ள பிள்ளைகளும்
போவான் போகின்றாரைப் போகாமல் காத்து உன்னைக்
     கூவுவான் வந்து நின்றோம் கோதுகலமுடைய
பாவாய் எழுந்திராய் பாடிப் பறை கொண்டு
     மாவாய் பிளந்தானை மல்லரை மாட்டிய
தேவாதி தேவனைச் சென்று நாம் சேவித்தால்
     ஆவாவென்று ஆராய்ந்து அருள் ஏல் ஓர் எம்பாவாய்.

மாவாய் - குதிரை வடிவு கொண்ட கேசியின் வாயை;
மல்லர் - சாணூரன் முஷ்டிகன் என்னும் மல்யுத்தம் செய்பவர்களை;
மாட்டிய - அழியச் செய்த; ஆ ஆ என்று அருள் - ஆ ஆ என்று இரங்கி;

Pasuram 8 - English Translation

Orient sky is pale; the buffalo
     Before gives milk plods to graze the field, Lo!
Girls go abreast in gang and the remnant
     Are told to await to have thee;
We call at thee astand; girl zealot!
     If we pray, procure the desire our vow
By reaching the Divine among Divine and sing
     Him who had split snout of the devil
     Kill'd wrestlers and quell'd;
     He shall hearken our welfare and spell;
     Arise, listen and consider, our damsel.

Pasuram 8 - Tradución de español

El sol ha salido iluminando el cielo de este
     Han dejado sueltos a los búfalos para pastar por poco tiempo
Las otras chicas que quieren proceder están esperando de pie fuera
     ¡Oye, chica alegre! Por favor despiértate y canta la gloria del omnipotente
Que mató a los demonios que se le oponían
     Si adorásemos al dios de los dioses, analizaría nuestras necesidades
Con gran compasión y las satisfaría por su gracia

9. "It is the duty of Krishna to seize me and to own me".

தூமணி மாடத்துச் சுற்றும் விளக்கெரிய
     தூபம் கமழ துயில் அணை மேல் கண் வளரும்
மாமான் மகளே! மணிக்கதவம் தாள் திறவாய்!
     மாமீர்! அவளை எழுப்பீரோ? உம் மகள் தான்
ஊமையோ அன்றிச் செவிடோ அனந்தலோ
     ஏமப் பெருந்துயில் மந்திரப்பட்டாளோ?
மாமாயன் மாதவன் வைகுந்தன் என்றென்று
     நாமம் பலவும் நவின்று ஏல் ஓர் எம்பாவாய்.

அனந்தல் - (களைப்பினால்) உறங்குகிறாளா? ஏமப்பட்டாள் - காவலில் இடப்பட்டாள்;

Pasuram 9 - English Translation

Mansion studded with pure precious stones
     Wicks of light all around gleaming
Asleep a couch perfume afloat;
     Thou, uncle's daughter, unlock the door bedeck'd;
Auntie, would you arouse her?
     Is your daughter dumb, deaf, lazy and dreaming?
Accurs'd to a grand sleep with a sentry?
     Extol Him as Madhava,
     Great Hypnotist, Mukuntha,
     And so forth chant the Vaigunta;
     Listen and consider, our damsel.

¡Oh hija de mi tío, durmiendo en una cama
     En un salón magníficamente adornado con lámparas y
                                  varitas de incienso encendidas!
Levántate y abre el cierre de la puerta ornamentada;
     ¡Oh Tía! Por favor despierta a tu hija, que está durmiendo
¿Es muda?, ¿Es sorda? ¿o es que alguien la ha hechizado?
     Abandona tu sueño y canta los nombres del todopoderoso
Como Mayan, Madhavan, Vaikundan;
     Despiértate y únete a nosotros.
