Everyone is aware that many a person had offered elucidation
in Tamil of the divine lyrics known as Tiruppavai, bestowed by Sri
Andal.
Dr. Chenni Padmanabhan Avl., concerned
with us, has elucidated the above hymns, in English and Telugu and had
printed and published in an elegant style, so as to promote
knowledge of the poems among the Westerners as well.
His Holiness Srimad Andavan, invoking
the divine favour of the Sandals of the Acharyas of early times, has
blessed expressively that all would study this divine lyric and acquire
Sri Andal's Grace.

The book bringing out the essence of Tiruppavai by Srimat
Dr.Chenni Padmanabhan M.D., has reached us. This has been very
tastefully printed and published with an English translation and text
in Roman, Tamil and Telugu alphabets. The work contains two parts:(1)An
elaborate introduction and (2)explanatory notes on each hymn. Both carry
out distinctive precepts of Visishatadvaita and are highly appealing to
the hearts of one and all. We have gone through the entire treatise and
are extremely delighted. We pray Lord Lakshmi Hayagriva that this book
would win popularity all over the world.
Issued at the command of the sacred
feet of His Holiness Narayanasmriti.

Sri Andal's Tiruppavai with only thirty verses, has many
commentaries in Tamil, Telugu Sanskrit, etc., written over the past one
thousand two hundred years. The hallmark of the present work by Dr.
Chenni Padmanabhan,M.D., is to bring out in English the essence of
Tiruppavai comprising mainly (1) An elaborate preface; (2) Text in
Tamil and Telugu with English transliteration and (3) Explanatory
comments on each hymn. The book illustrates the distinct concepts of
Visishtadvaita vis-a-vis Tiruppavai and will go a long way in
fulfilling the needs of the needs of the religious aspirants living in
India and abroad.
We invoke the divine favour on this work
and bless Sri Chenni Padmanabhan for a bright future, health and
strength to continue writing on Alwars and our Acharyas.
Mangalaassaasanam.

We are overwhelmed with joy to
read your
book on Tiruppavai. The pasurams in English, Telugu and Tamil will be
helpful to study and recite. In view of the substance point of view the
English rendering is well coherent. The esoteric significances are
admirably brought out and the gist clearly focused with simple and
crispy interpretations. The appended glossary and index will facilitate
for deep analysis and to
comprehend the concepts. This wonderful monumental work would last for
ever, highlighting the importance of Vaishnavite Doctrine. May your
efforts be fruitful and reach many devotees to impart the massage of
Sri Andal.
Jai Sriman Narayana!

It is a pleasant
experience to go through “Concepts of Sri Andal's

will be useful for Telugu speaking and English knowing people to read

Sri Andal's
“Tiruppavai” is a treatise on Bhakthi expressed in
grand poetic language. I am glad that Dr. Chenni Padmanabhan has
brought out these poems in English under the title of
“Concepts of Sri Andal's Tiruppavai”. He has given
transliteration of the beautiful songs in Telugu and in Roman
Script. Dr. Chenni Padmanabhan has done a great service to
this Bhakthi literature making it available to those who do not know
Tamil or who have forgotten Tamil. I am sure this will be greatly
welcomed by the public not only in India but in other countries also.

English with transliteration of the songs in English and Telugu.

We are busy with Sri
Sai Bhagwan's 70th Birthday celebrations. Your book “Concepts
of Sri Andal's Tiruppavai” in grand poetic language, gives an
insight to Nalayira Divyaprabhandam. The translation and
transliteration are very useful for people who have forgotten Tamil.

Tiruppavai is the most
cherished Dravida Prabandham for all devotees in general and
Vaishnavites in particular. Most of the Telugu Vaishnavites, not
conversant with Tamil, sing it with emotion and rapture during Margali.
There are many translations of this sacred song in Telugu.
The exposition of the Vaishnavite doctrine is scholarly and lucid at
the same time. Transliteration into Telugu and English, meaning,
explanation and significance of each and every pasuram is helpful to
the English Readers. References and Glossary add weight to the Book.
